2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the widely acclaimed movie “Priscilla – Queen of the Desert”. The plot follows two drag queens and a transgender woman as they journey across the Australian Outback from Sydney to Alice Springs in a tour bus that they have named “Priscilla”, along the way encountering various groups and individuals.
To celebrate, an internationally recognised 3 day festival will showcase comedy, cabaret, live music and social activities whilst paying homage to this iconic cult movie and stage musical.

Parrtjima is the only authentic Aboriginal light festival of its kind. The annual festival takes over Alice Springs with ten nights of light installations from a number aboriginal artists set against the majestic MacDonnell Ranges.

The Tatts Finke Desert Race is an off road, multi terrain two-day race for bikes, cars, buggies and quads through desert country from Alice Springs to the small Aputula (Finke) community. The race is held each year on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June. “Finke” as it is commonly known, is one of the biggest annual sporting events in the Northern Territory and has the reputation of being one of the most difficult offroad courses in one of the most remote places in the world.
